Cancellation Policy

Cancellations less than 3 business days prior will not receive a refund. Please note members will not be able to swap their registration for events with a non-member.

If you are unable to attend an event after registering, your registration may be donated or transferred to another individual. In alignment with AFP-GPC’s IDEA principles, we will prioritize transferring registration to a fundraiser from an underrepresented or historically marginalized community and/or our Emerging Leaders cohort whenever possible. Please notify [email protected] at least 48 hours before the event; if less notice is given, we will do our best to accommodate the transfer.


AFP-GPC is seeking proposals for our upcoming 2026 Calendar of Educational Sessions. Please complete the online RFP form to submit your proposal. Submissions are evaluated quarterly.

State of the Sector is AFP-GPC's first event of the new year! 

Featuring headline speaker Matt Haggerty, we will take a deep dive into the current state of philanthropy in Philadelphia and beyond. Join us to network with fellow members and chapter leadership and discover new ways to make an impact your community through your AFP membership.

Full participation in "Annual Meeting: The State of the Sector - Examining Philanthropy in Philadelphia" is applicable for 1 point in Category 1.B -Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.

Speaker

Matt Haggerty, Carey & Co.

Matt Haggerty has nearly two decades of experience leading in and serving nonprofit organizations. He has held financial and operational leadership roles within a variety of organizations and provided finance and accounting services within public accounting firms. Matt specializes in bridging finance and strategy, helping organizations achieve their missions in the ways that they manage their finances. His tech-forward, people-centric approach aims to elevate people and processes for the overall benefit of organizations.

In addition to finance and operational work, Matt is a thought leader in the nonprofit industry. He specializes in analyzing economic and industry trends, breaking them down into digestible and actionable ideas for nonprofit leaders. Matt has written a number of articles and blog posts and has had speaking engagements at convenings throughout the country.

Prior to Carey & Co, Matt worked at Tate & Tryon CPAs & Consultants and then RSM, where he was a Financial Consulting Director and a Sr. Analyst for the nonprofit industry. Matt holds a BBA from the University of Notre Dame and a MPP from the George Washington University. He resides in Minneapolis, MN, with his wife and two kids. He enjoys coaching and watching baseball and is involved in his church and neighborhood organizations.
