Karen Singer is a ceramic artist with over 35 years of experience helping nonprofits meet and exceed their fundraising goals by millions. Karen Singer Tileworks partners with clients to design and create fine art Donor Recognition that inspires donations BEFORE & WELL BEYOND the campaign.
Donors must be recognized. Make that recognition work harder by turning it into a powerful fundraising tool.
Below are some ideas to leverage Donor Recognition to raise more money!
START EARLY
Budget for Recognition at the onset of the project. Standard is 2-4% of your fundraising goal.
Hire an artist who listens. Treat this person as a member of your fundraising team. Sharing your history and inviting the artist to visit your campus or community helps inspire meaningful imagery.
Seek a donor to underwrite the costs - someone who is passionate about expanding your donor base and getting current donors to give at higher levels.
Donor Recognition as as Fundraising Tool
-
-
- Use the design for Brand Identity on all printed materials & website
-
-
-
- Use the design to add a WOW factor to your case statement.
-
-
-
- Bring a model of the design to "silent phase" visits.
-
-
-
- Display the design at meetings, in the lobby, on elevators (everywhere)
- Display the design at meetings, in the lobby, on elevators (everywhere)
-
The visualization of your mission sparks a connection with your donors that can be more powerful than words.
There are stories about why people give to your organization. Make the feeling behind these stories visible within your donor recognition display. Imagine how valuable this would be to your campaign!
TELL EVERYONE
- Create a buzz.
- Get media coverage.
- The more people who know about your mission, the more donations it inspires.
- Energize everyone to fundraise from your CEO to the maintenance staff.
Remember what you are doing is not just Donor Recognition, but a work of art that everyone will enjoy for generations.
CONTINUE THE BRAND
Once you have an image that resonates, use it on donor gifts & naming plaques to create cohesiveness.
- Use the image on letterhead, invitations, Thank You notes, Annual Reports and on your website, especially on the Giving Page!
- A fine art donor wall will continue to silently fundraise because it makes people Stop, Look and ask How can I get on the wall?
