Exciting Initiatives from AFP GPC

Hello, fellow AFP GPC members! My name is Valerie, and I want to share a new, exciting initiative for our chapter. Moving forward, you are going to see a lot more professional development resources and educational content on our blog and website.
We get it, the pandemic changed a lot. Many of you are working remote or hybrid, and getting out of the office for networking or professional development events isn't as common as it used to be. The decision to attend one of our programs over something that's held virtually that you can watch from home, or something pre-recorded you can watch when you have the time, is a much bigger decision than it used to be.
So we're pivoting too. Moving forward, we are focusing on high-quality, in person workshops where you can get hands-on support from local experts in a small group setting - these sessions are capped at 15 attendees.
Our signature events like Leading Philanthropy, National Philanthropy Day, and the Funders Forum will continue. If you make the decision to get out of the office and spend time with us, we are going to make it worth your while.
As for networking, we're focusing on our Community Coffee Conversations, which are held monthly in rotating locations to allow you to connect in a relaxed atmosphere with fellow fundraisers.

And, if you aren't able to make it out of the office, we are introducing several options to ensure that you still have resources, templates, and educational materials as a result of your membership:
-Our previous webinars are available on demand, so you can take a look through the library to find topics that may meet your needs at any given moment.
-We'll continue to host webinars throughout the year so that you can access up-to-date, topical subjects and connect virtually with fellow members.
-Our blog will have regular content from local experts; everything from white papers to thought pieces to templates and resources on specific topics. Ultimately, we're building a resource library for you to access as needed.
-We'll seek new partnerships with podcasters and other digital content creators to ensure that we're keeping up with new trends and emerging topics.
Do you have any suggestions for us on content or potential partners (yourself or others!)? Or are there other resources you'd like to see that would support your professional development? Let us know! Send me an email with your thoughts.
